The Museo Leymebamba is idyllically situated a short distance from the town of Leymebamba.

The museum displays artifacts rescued from the Laguna de los Condores. Some are purely Chachapoyan; others, including ceramics and khipu, show a strong Inka influence. The museum houses 219 mummies in appropriate conservation conditions. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with native plants and include a special room dedicated to orchids of the region.
